Contract Description:

Project Schedule:

Construction activities may commence on or after March 31st, 2024. A working window of 6 months is set for this project from commencing construction activities to substantial project completion. All work included in the contract other than warranty work shall be completed by August 1st, 2025. Warranty and Maintenance activities will extend to August 1, 2028.

IX. Chairperson’s Report: Hauskins gave a review of the MSBA Leadership Conference she recently attended on January 11th and 12th.

X. Superintendent’s Report:

A. MSBA Conference – Fletcher provided an update on the MSBA Leadership Conference.

B. 2024-2025 Operational Plan – A detailed update was provided on various parts of the Operational Plan.

C. Construction Management – Kraus-Anderson was chosen to work with to get more specifics about future projects and costs and to assist in next steps.

D. Legislation Update – Interpretation of more of the Legislative changes were discussed.

XI. Committee Reports: Beyer gave an update an update for the Foundation meeting. Hauskins gave an update on the Facilities Committee. Eckles gave an update on the DAT meeting.

XII. Principals Reports:

Dressler: Targeted Services will begin at the end of the month for approximately 10 weeks, however transportation will not be available for those sessions. Dressler is going to attend the Elementary Principals Association conference early next month. He also provided an update on various activities being held for the K-7 students.

Sturtz: Highlighted student activities prior to the winter break. The 5th graders attended the Kindness Retreat on January 11th. A Spelling Bee will be held for the 5-7th graders on Friday, January 19th.

Shaffer: Shaffer will be attending a Principals Conference being held the end of January in Minneapolis. He announced that some new courses will be offered soon in Business, Ag, FACS and Early Child Education. He provided details on the recent BPA team’s performance at Regionals.

XIII. Curriculum/Instruction Director Update: Schmidt gave an update on the READ (Reading to Ensure Academic Development) Act and LETRS (Language Essentials for Teachers Training of Reading and Spelling) training for teachers. Schmitt also shared the upcoming testing schedule for students and the training calendar for staff.
