Bids for the construction of the Project will be received at the Office of the City Clerk located at 51 Main Street, Easton, MN 56025-0136, until February 20, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. local time. The opening and reading of the Bids may be modified subject to COVID-19 preventative measures. At that time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The Project includes the following Work:

American Iron and Steel
Section 746 of Title VII of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2017 (Division A – Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act, 2017) and subsequent statutes mandating domestic preference applies an American Iron and Steel requirement to this project. All iron and steel products used in this project must be produced in the United States. XI. Superintendent’s Report:
a. MSBA Leadership Conference January 16-17, 2025. The theme this year is Inspire and Connect: Leading with Purpose.
b. DDE Survey and Focus Group results were shared. Data has been gathered from all three groups (staff, students and families) and a list of strengths was shared from the focus groups as well as areas for growth. All three focus groups will reconnect in May to see how improvements were made in areas of focus.
c. Updates on Operating Levy Goals – Fletcher provided a detailed update on the 3 main goals which centered around Technology, Transportation and Staffing.
d. Student Board Rep Update – Member Machacek updated the board on the student focus groups that she lead.
XII. Committee Reports:
a. Superintendent Negotiations – Hauskins reported that in a recent meeting with board members they discussed the contract of Superintendent Fletcher.
b. Foundation – Beyer gave an update and the foundation approved $17k+ in requests this month. She also gave an update on the Bucks for Bucs fundraiser held at the Elmore Legion and Minn-Iowa Golf Course.
c. QComp Oversight – Franta provided a brief update about the committee that met via email to approve requests.
d. DAT – Eckles gave an update on the meeting held where the results from the focus groups were reviewed and planned next steps.
XIII. Principals Reports:
Dressler: Provided an update on upcoming events; McTeacher night, K5 holiday sing along at the PAC, and the 6th/7th grade musical event night. Dressler also provided on update on participation at the Parent Teacher conferences.
Shaffer: Shaffer updated the board on Parent/Teacher Conferences at the High School. Band and Orchestra concerts were also held. Parents can check their portal on Infinite campus to check on students missing assignments, attendance and they can contact teachers with questions.
Sturtz: Updated the board on the Harvest Dinner hosted by the Middle School staff and students. The first roller skating event was held over Thanksgiving break in Pemberton. The Elementary Toy and Food Drive was held. (Member Mensing left meeting at 7:19 p.m.)
XIV. Curriculum/Instruction Director Update: Schmidt updated on the Read Act. The next full day of staff LETRS training will be in January. Preparations are beginning for testing for students and will begin after winter break. Schmidt is attending required training for the upcoming testing period. MCA testing will take place in April as well as the ACT for 11th grade students.
