Boy cagers post 2-1 record during past week
The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers had very little trouble handling the St. Peter Saints last Thursday night in St. Peter.
The Bucs built up a large 40-13 lead by half time, and despite a 33-point second half effort by the Saints, cruised to a 69-46 victory.
Nick Lee had a big night and led the Bucs in scoring with 18 points. Jon Trasamar added 16 points, 10 of them in the first half. He was one for one from three-point range.
Logan Becker and Nate Carr both had double-doubles in the game.
Becker had 14 points and also had 10 rebounds, while Carr had 10 points and 11 rebounds for BEA.
Becker also had five assists and four steals in the game.
The Bucs led in most of the stats departments. They out-rebounded the Saints by double, with 40 to their 20.
They also made 15 of 29 free-throw attempts, while the Saints only made two of 11. And the Bucs also sank 26 of their 55 shots while St. Peter hit 20 of their 45 attempts at the basket.
The win puts the Bucs record now at 6-2 overall , with a 3-0 conference record in the South Central Conference.
Up next for the Buccaneers is a game tonight, Monday, against the Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers at Waterville. Then on Friday night they will host the St. James team.
