Tennis team gets smacked by Owatonna
It wasn’t pretty.
The Blue Earth Area boys tennis team traveled to Owatonna last week Tuesday and suffered a big loss. Final score was 6-1 in favor of the home team.
The Bucs one lone victory was by fourth singles Garrett Passer, who won 6-1, 3-6, 6-1. Passer’s win was more remarkable since he had been in the hospital over the weekend with complications due to diabetes.
The other three game set saw third singles Aaron Wilhelmi lose a close match 4-6, 6-4, 5-7.
First singles Logan Becker lost his match 6-1, 6-0. Second singles Riley Holmseth lost 6-1, 7-6 (11-9 super tie-breaker).
All three doubles teams lost to Owatonna. The teams of Dalton Moore and Matthew Purvis, and Hans Kittleson and Fredi Kneer both lost by scores of 6-1, 6-1. Second doubles Drake Nimz and Wade Wilhelmi lost 6-1, 7-6 (7-2 tie-breaker).
This week they are at Holy Family Monday and New Ulm Tuesday. They will host Fairmont here on Thursday.
