Buc girls overwhelm NRHEG 10 to 2 Monday
The BEA girls softball team has won and lost a couple of very close games so far this season. On Monday night, they made sure the game wasn’t close. They overwhelmed the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva girls by a score of 10 to 2 in Ellendale.
The Bucs got their ten runs on 12 hits, and had two errors, while the NRHEG girls had seven hits and no errors.
Alicia Rorman pitched all seven innings for the Bucs, giving up seven hits, striking out three batters and walking two.
Leading the hitting was Shelley Pearson who went 3 for 4 with two doubles and a triple and two RBIs.
Brittany Boettcher went 2 for 5, and Kirsten Johanson was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. Mary Johnson was also 2 for 4 and had two doubles and four RBIs. Cali Rauenhorst was 2 for 2, a double, and one RBI.
“It was a good game for us,” Coach Bob Hanson said. “It was pretty wet conditions.”
Rorman was outstanding, Coach Hanson said. “She threw a lot of strikes, and the defense played pretty well.”
