Bucs split doubleheader with Blooming Prairie

The Bucs John Franta makes contact to get a big hit

The BEA baseball team split with Blooming Prairie in a doubleheader on April 19.

The Bucs won one game 2-0, then lost one 8-4.

Pitchers Blake Anderson and Garrett Anderson combined for the near no-hitter in the second game.

Garrett Anderson got the win, and also gave up the only Blooming Prairie hit. He struck out nine of the 12 batters he faced in his four innings of relief.

He also got one of the Bucs three hits. Jake Lee and Mat Wilner got the other two.

Cory Liebl and Blake Anderson had the pitching duties in the first game.

Liebl took the loss, going five innings and giving up five runs on nine hits. He struck out five batters. Anderson pitched two innings and gave up three runs on two hits, and walked three.

John Franta led the Buc batters, getting two hits from four at bats. Adam Meyer and Mat Wilner got the other two hits.
