Becker to start All-State game

The 35th Annual Minnesota High School All-Star Football Game will be held at 7 p.m. on Sat. June 28.

For the fourth year, the game will be played at Husky Stadium on the campus of St. Cloud State University.

Among the players on the Outstate All-Stars team is Logan Becker of Blue Earth Area High School. Becker is a 6’0″, 160 pound quarterback.

Becker is expected to start the game at that position.

For the 29th year, the game will feature the Metro All-Stars versus the Outstate All-Stars. Through 28 games, the Outstate All-Stars lead the series 15-13.

In the 2007 game, Jon Hoese of Glencoe-Silver Lake tied an All-Star Game record by scoring three touchdowns, leading the Outstate All-Stars to a 27-14 victory over the Metro All-Stars.

The All-Star Football Game showcases outstanding senior players from the 2007 high school football season.

The 87 players and 12 coaches who will participate in this year’s game represent 74 schools and 33 conferences. They were selected by members of the Minnesota High School Football Coaches Association.

The players and coaches will report to All-Star training camp at Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Peter on Sunday, June 22. Training camp will run through Saturday afternoon June 28.
