Bucs go perfect 10-0 in conference

A perfect 10-0 record. That is what the Blue Earth Area volleyball team accomplished in the South Central Conference this season.

They completed the unblemished record when they defeated St. James last Tuesday night in Blue Earth.

Once again the Bucs made a statement doing it, sweeping the Saints in three games. The scores were 25-23, 25-22, 25-15.

Danika Stindtman once again led the Buccaneers in kills, nailing 14 of them in the match. She has gone over 1,000 in her career.

Kate Hassing added eight kills and also had two ace blocks for the Bucs.

Kirsten Johansen added 27 set assists to her season record. She also served for 13 points, and was 17 of 19 from the line, with two service aces.

Jenny Smith came up with seven digs for BEA, plus she had an ace block. Smith was 17 of 18 serving, with 12 points and and an ace serve.

The win put the Bucs season record at 15-7 for the year.

Their next match is the opening round of the Section 2 Class AA tournament. They host St. Peter in Blue Earth on Thursday night.17 of 18 serving, with 12 points and and an ace serve.
