Gymnasts victorious at triangular
The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer gymnastics team won a triangular meet last Tuesday in Windom.
The Bucs scored 133.175 to Fairmont’s 125.95 and Windom’s 122.2.
BEA was led by Julia Meyer who scored 34.5 in all-around. She scored a 8.65 on the vault, an 8.5 on the uneven bars, 8.85 on the balance beam and 8.6 in floor exercise.
Blaire Zierke got a 9.05 in floor exercise to propel her to a 34.375 all-around score. She also had 8.825 on the vault, 8.1 on the bars and 8.4 on beam.
Cassie Thompson scored a 32.5 in all-around for the Bucs. Her score included an 8.75 on the vault. Sam Hougen also scored an 8.75 on the vault.
As a team, the Bucs had a 34.975 on the vault, 32.450 on the bars, 32 on the beam and 33.750 for floor exercise.
This week the Bucs are getting ready for the South Central Conference meet, which will be Friday in Waseca.
They will meet Waseca on Tuesday, in a postponed meet. Another postponed meet, in Jackson, was cancelled.
