JCC doubles score on Bucs

The Blue Earth Area girls basketball team lost their second game in a row last Tuesday night, when they travelled to Jackson to take on the Jackson County Central Huskies.
The Bucs fell 64-32.
“This was not a good outing for us,” said Head Coach Al Cue. “They pressured us and we fell apart in the first half.”
The score after the first half was 41-14 in favor of JCC.
“We completely got away from our strengths,” Cue continued. “They are a very good team, but our play made them look great. We need to take care of the ball better in upcoming games.”
The Bucs had 28 turnovers, compared to 17 for the Huskies. JCC also had 11 steals to the BEAs six.
Leading scorers for the Buccaneers were Ashley Olson and Morgan Dickman who each had seven points.BEA hit on only seven of 30 shots from the floor, within the arc. JCC was 21 of 45. Both teams hit three 3-pointers.
In free throws, the Bucs were 9 of 16, while the Huskies were 13 of 16.
The Bucs were out rebounded 22-18. Jackie Klinkner grabbed seven boards for BEA.
The loss puts the Bucs’ record at 9-8 overall.
Next up the Bucs will host the USC Rebels on Tuesday night, and St. Peter on Friday.
