Bucs top New Ulm Eagles

The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers traveled to New Ulm on Friday, Feb. 27 and notched a conference win over the Eagles, 64-47.

The Bucs had three players hit double figures in the scoring column.

Garrett Anderson led all scorers with 21 points. He also had 14 rebounds and two blocked shots.

Nick Lee added 18 points for the Bucs, and also had eight assists and five rebounds.

Riley Holmseth put in three 3-pointers on his way to 13 points. He also grabbed five rebounds.

For New Ulm, Zach Quiring hit for 19 points, and Dustin Reinhart added 10.

The Bucs had a 29-21 lead at halftime.

BEA made 22 of 41 from 2-point range, and were 50 percent, 5 of 10, from behind the 3-point line. The Bucs made 5 of 11 from the free-throw line.

New Ulm was 19 of 31 for 2-point shots, and 0 of 13 tries at 3-point bombs. They were 9 of 13 from the line.

The Bucs record went up to 15-8, while the Eagles fell to 2-17 for the season.
