Linksters defeat Saints at home

The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers shot well enough on a cool Monday afternoon to defeat the St. Peter Saints by nine strokes. The Bucs won 360-369 on their home course at Riverside Town and Country Club.

Jon Trasamar was the meet medalist and leader for the Bucs with a score of 71 (34-37). The one-under par total included five birdies.

Andy Aukes fired an 87 (47-40) for second place score for the team. Derek Abel and Nate Glimsdal tied at 101 for the Bucs’ other scores. Abel shot 52-49, and Glimsdal was the reverse, 49-52.

BEA takes third place

The Buccaneer boys golf team took third place honors at the Belle Plaine Invitational on Friday, April 24.

The team shot a 357 to grab third place. Delano took first with a 345 and Watertown-Mayer was second at 353. Host Belle Plaine was fourth at 363, USC took fifth with a 368, and Jordan was sixth at 375.

Jon Trasamar led the way for Blue Earth Area with an 86 (43-43). Andy Aukes and Nate Glimsdal tied for second with a couple of 90s. Aukes shot 41-49 and Glimsdal was 44-46. Derek Abel had a 91 (45-46) for the Buc’s other score.

Delano’s Alex Luedtke was the tourney medalist, shooting an 80.
