Boys get 9-point win on the road

Nick Lee continued his hot shooting and led the Blue Earth Area Buccaneers to a 73-64 victory over the Montgomery-Lonsdale Redbirds last Tuesday night.

Lee had a double-double, scoring 24 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. The Buc senior also had six steals and three blocked shots.

BEA was up by only one point at the half, 30-29. The Bucs outscored the host Redbirds 43-35 in the second half.

The game had been postponed a day, due to bad driving conditions on Monday, Feb 15.

Garrett Anderson added 17 points and five rebounds for the Buccaneers, while Brady Anderson chipped in another 14 points and three assists.

Nate Carr had nine points and six assists.

BEA was 26 of 51 from 2-point range, and only 1 of 7 from beyond the arc. They did complete 18 of 28 from the free throw line.Montgomery-Lonsdale was 22 of 45 from 2-point range, 4 of 13 from the 3-point line, and 8 of 10 from the charity stripe.

The Bucs held a slim 27-25 rebounding edge, while completing 12 steals to the Redbirds seven. The Bucs only had 11 turnovers, while the hosts committed 17.

The win boosted BEA’s season mark to 16-4.

This week they travel to LCWM on Tuesday, while hosting Maple River on Thursday.
