Girls cruise past Saints, 69-35
The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers exploded on offense and cruised to a 69-35 win in St. James on Friday night, Feb. 12.
The Bucs led by a score of 38-25 at the half, then held the Saints to just 10 second half points.
“We played well this game,” Buc mentor Al Cue says. “I thought we gave up a few too many points in the first half, but other than that, it was a solid effort.”
BEA connected on 20 of 40 shots from 2-point range and an incredible 6 of 7 from 3-point distance.
The Bucs were paced by Ashley Olson who had 17 points, including four 3-pointers. She also had five steals, four assists and four rebounds.
Camille Driscoll and Hayley Pirsig each added 13 points to the Bucs’ tally. Kate Hassing added nine.
Pirsig and Alicia Rorman each added three steals.
The win pushed the Bucs’ record to 16-4 overall, 7-2 in the South Central Conference.
This week the Buccaneers host Jackson County Central on Tuesday, and then travel to Maple River on Thursday.
