The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers exploded on offense and cruised to a 69-35 win in St. James on Friday night, Feb. 12.

The Bucs led by a score of 38-25 at the half, then held the Saints to just 10 second half points.

“We played well this game,” Buc mentor Al Cue says. “I thought we gave up a few too many points in the first half, but other than that, it was a solid effort.”

BEA connected on 20 of 40 shots from 2-point range and an incredible 6 of 7 from 3-point distance.

The Bucs were paced by Ashley Olson who had 17 points, including four 3-pointers. She also had five steals, four assists and four rebounds.

The win pushed the Bucs’ record to 16-4 overall, 7-2 in the South Central Conference.

This week the Buccaneers host Jackson County Central on Tuesday, and then travel to Maple River on Thursday.
