It looked like deja-vu all over again, to quote Yogi Berra.

Last year the Blue Earth Area Buccaneer boys basketball team had gained the No. 1 seed in the Sub-Section Tournament, only to lose to the No. 8-seed.

This year they again got the No. 1 seed, and faced the No. 8-seeded KoMets of Kasson-Mantorville last Tuesday night in Blue Earth.

The Bucs spent almost all of the first half trailing the KoMets – sometimes by as many as six points.

But, Buccaneer senior guard Jared Smith ignited the team in the second half, and with his 19 points led the Bucs to a 58-42 win over the visiting KoMets.
