The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer boys golf team came close to getting a win in Jackson on Friday, May 14.

Three strokes were the difference in the meet. BEA lost 172-175 to Jackson County Central.

The Bucs were led by Andy Aukes who shot a three-over par 40.

Aukes score was the second lowest in the meet behind JCC’s Tanner Asa.

Aukes was followed closely by Nate Glimsdal and Slater Peterson who both carded a 44 for the nine holes.

Rounding out the scoring for the Bucs was a 47 from Chris Sundquist.

Bodey Bell and Jacob Black both shot 54 to complete the varsity scoring for the Bucs.

“This is a chance for all of the golfers to assess their rounds and realize their strokes matter,” Coach Travis Armstrong says. “If each one could have saved one stroke in the nine holes, we would have won the meet.”

The Bucs play in Dodge Center on Tuesday for the Sub-Section.
