Netters start season at 2-1

By Staff | Aug 29, 2010

The Blue Earth Area girls tennis team got off to a good start to the 2010 season when they traveled to Cannon Falls for an early season tournament last Tuesday and went 2-1 in their three matches.

And, they did it without their No. 1 singles player, Emily Slama, who was ill and unable to play.

The Buc netters defeated New Life Academy 6-1, then downed Minneapolis Washburn 5-2. The Blue Earth squad was blanked by host Cannon Falls 7-0 in their final match of the day.
