Girls 1st, boys 2nd at JCC Invite
It was almost another double-win for the Blue Earth Area cross country team during the Jackson County Central Invite held Monday at Loon Lake Golf Course.
The girls took home the first-place trophy in the six-team competition with 52 points, while the boys finished second with 51 points.
Medals were awarded to the top 10 finishers and the Buc girls had three medalists, as did the boys.
In the girls 4,000-meter race, Courtney Grandgenett had a fourth-place time of 15:58, followed by Marissia Hagedorn in eighth with 16:18 and Rylee Wagner in ninth place in 16:24.
The other top seven finishers were LaNay Walker at 12th place in 16:33, Signe Olson 19th in 17:06, Taylor Grandgenett 20th with 17:11 and Lindsey Ankeny 26th with a time of 17:49.
The boys were again led with Riley Holmseth covering the 5,000 meters in 17:13 to nab fifth place.
Wade Wilhelmi was ninth in 17:53 and Aaron Wilhelmi was right behind in 10th place with 18:09.
Mike Ankeny took 13th in 18:30, while Jake Zebedee was 14th in 18:35, Jesse Alleven 23rd in 19:44 and Korey Frandle 36th with 21:02.
