Girls 2nd, boys 4th at I-90 Meet
The Buc girls and boys cross country teams finished in the top five at the I-90 Meet held Thursday at Cedar Creek Park in Fairmont.
The Class A No.5-ranked Cardinal girls pocketed first place with 54 points, while the No.6-ranked Fairmont boys also were first with 69 points.
The BEA girls were second with 76 and the boys finished fourth with 114.
Courtney Grandgenett led the Bucs by placing fifth in 15:57, while Marissia Hagedorn’s time of 16:25 was 10th best overall.
The next Buc to cross the finish line was LaNay Walker at 14th in 16:37.
Rylee Wagner was 17th in 16:47 and Taylor Grandgenett was the other Buc scorer, placing 34th with a time of 17:18.
Rounding out the varsity runners were Signe Olson finishing taking 37th in 17:37 and Lindsey Ankeny placing 41st in 17:52.
The Buc boys were led with Riley Holmseth’s 14th place finish in the 5k run with a time of 17:41.
Wade Wilhelmi completed the course in 17:42 to grab 15th and Aaron Wilhelmi was 21st with 18:06.
Taking 27th with a time of 18:34 was Mike Ankeny, followed by Jake Zebedee in the 42nd spot with 19:22.
Jesse Alleven was 56th in 19:51 and Korey Frandle took 64th in 20:27.
