Boys place 2nd at indoor invite

The Buc boys track and field team took second place at an indoor meet hosted March 31 at Minnesota State University, Mankato.

BEA finished with 61.5 points, behind first-place Mankato East with 105. Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial/Nicollet tallied 55 points and Waterville-Elysian-Morristown had seven.

BEA took two firsts in the distance races.

Riley Holmseth crossed the finish line in 5:12.6 to win the 1,600-meter run, while Jesse Alleven posted a winning time of 12:31.2 in the 3,200-meter race.

Taking second behind Alleven was Alvin Goraczkowski with a time of 14:45.1, six seconds faster than third-place finisher Kyle Mercer.

In the 800-meter run, Jake Wagner’s 2:16.8 was second best overall.

In the sprints, Jake Zebedee was clocked in 55.2 to grab first in the 400-meter dash.

Taylor Olson’s time of 25.7 in the 200-meter dash was good enough for third place and also placed him No. 10 on the all-time indoor honor roll list.

In the 55-meter dash, Nick Beattie claimed third place in 7.1 seconds.

The Bucs’ Isaac Darrington cleared 6 feet to claim first place in the high jump, while Cole Klinksiek was fifth with 5-3.

Travis Hagedorn led the way for BEA in the 55-meter intermediate hurdles with a time of 9.3 seconds to place fifth.

Jake Zebedee again cleared 14 feet to win the pole vault event.

Hagedorn was fifth with a height of 9-6, and Alleven went over 9-0 to place seventh and earn the No. 10 spot on the honor roll list.

In the triple jump, Nick Shure’s mark of 30-5 was good for fifth place.

Jake Zebedee and Beattie each soared 17-11 in the long jump. But, Zebedee nosed out Beattie for fourth place.

Sam Lee’s toss of 43-2 1/4 feet gave him fourth place in the shot put and No. 8 overall on the honor roll.

The 4 x 200-meter relay team of Trey Dyslin (24.7), Jacob Olson (23.6), Daniel Plocker (25.2) and Darrington (24.7) took second place with a time of 1:38.1. It also placed the foursome No. 2 on the indoor honor roll list.

The 4 x 400-meter relay was third with a time of 3:55.3. Members of the squad are Kysten Zierke (58.6), Jake Wagner (58.2), Taylor Olson (58.8) and Holmseth (59.9).Other results
