Bucs now 7-0 after 12-2 win

The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer baseball team kept its perfect season intact with a 12-2 blasting of the St. James Saints last Thursday afternoon.

The Bucs record now stands at 7-0, 2-0 in the South Central Conference.

St. James falls to 2-4 on the season, 0-2 in the SCC.

BEA scored a single run in both the first and second innings for an early 2-0 lead.

The Buccaneers exploded for five runs in the third inning to take a 7-0 advantage.

St. James scored a run to make the score 7-1.

In the top of the sixth inning, BEA expanded their lead to 10-1.

Collin Nienhaus started the inning off with a double. He came home on an error. Taylor Owen also had a double to score two more runs.

St. James scored another run to make the score 10-2.

The Bucs countered with two more runs in the seventh, for a 10-run lead. St. James was shut out in the bottom of the seventh and the game was over.

Brady Anderson was the winning pitcher, going almost all the way. Andrew Bell came in to pitch for just the last out.

This week the Bucs host St. Peter on Tuesday, then travel to New Ulm on Friday.
