BEA tennis falls in first round of post season play
The first time Blue Earth Area and St. Peter faced off on the tennis court, the Saints won 7-0 on the Bucs’ home court.
At Monday’s team tennis quarterfinals at St. Peter High School, results were very similar.
St. Peter won six of seven matches on their way to the easy match win.
BEA’s lone bright spot came in No. 2 doubles. The team of Riley Holmseth and Hunter Myers bested Ben Gault and Ty Benner in straight sets by scores of 6-3, 6-3.

In No. 2 singles, it was all St. Peter with Nathan Huber defeating BEA’s Wade Wilhelmi 6-1, 6-1.
The next match up at No. 3 singles displayed the Saints’ Spencer Gault takedown the Bucs’ Nick Lein 6-0, 6-0.
St. Peter rounded out singles play with another lopsided victory as Kevin Sauliner beat Ryan Gronewold with two sets ending with the identical score of 6-1.
In No. 1 doubles Colan Surratt and Hans Kittleson fell by a score of 6-3, 6-3 to Alex Nadeau and Sam Peterson.
To conclude the meet, St. Peter’s Alex Wilson and Matt Huber blanked the team of Eric Purvis and Chance Andrews in the first set 6-0. In the second set, the Bucs responded falling by a contested score of 6-4.
