Girls come in 4th at NU

Allie Curtis
The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer girls golf team placed fourth in the South Central Conference golf tournament held last Monday.
The Bucs shot a 437 team score on the New Ulm course.
Fairmont won the conference with a 387. Waseca came in second at 406, New Ulm third with 420.
Two Buc players earned All-Conference honors, which is a combination of points earned during the regular season dual meets and the conference tournament.
Allie Curtis shot a 95 while Autumn Drake came in with a 103, claiming the All-SCC team honors.
Curtis had the third best round of the day.
“Allie really had a great day,” Buc Coach Al Cue notes. “She played consistently throughout her round to earn her way onto the All-SCC team.”
Drake’s 103 was the 11th best round of the day.
“Autumn had a few tough holes,” Cue says. “But she was able to scratch her way through the round and earned All-Conference.”
Natali Fellows score of 115 and Aeli Olson’s 124 also counted for the Bucs team total.
The two other Bucs playing in the tournament were Emily Davids who carded a 125 and Kali Viland who came in with a 133.
“Natali also had a good day,” Cue points out. “She shot her best 18-hole score of the season.”
Cue says the fourth place finish was about what he expected.
“The girls came a long way from our first meet of the season,” he says. “They shot nearly 40 strokes better today than the first meet on this same course.”
