Five will compete at Section Meet

The Blue Earth Area girls golf team played for their shot to advance from Sub-sections.

The team played at Northlinks Golf Course in Mankato on May 29.

The top two teams will advance to Sections as well as the top 10 individuals that are not on one of the top two teams.

The Buccaneers shot a team total of 410 falling into third behind two other schools, Fairmont in first with 396 and Waseca with 402.

Other teams finished as follows; St. Peter fourth with 433, NRHEG with 494, and Maple River with 512.

“The meet was both exciting and disappointing,”?coach Al Cue says. “It was disappointing because we are capable of shooting a team score that could have won the meet.”

As for individual play, BEA?will be advancing five golfers to sections.

Cue says, “I’m excited to be advancing five individuals.”

Autumn Drake was the top golfer with a score of 93. Drake was first place medalist and will advance to Sections.

“Autumn hit the ball very well,”?the BEA?coach adds. “She had some putting problems but really battled her way to medalist.”

With 95, Allie Curtis came in second place at the meet. She will also advance to Sections.

“Allie played a very smart, conservative round and earned the second place medal,”?he adds.

Also advancing to Sections for the Bucs will be Natali Fellows with a 109, Anna Aukes with 113 and Aeli Olson with 114.

Emily Davids, with 119, just missed advancing by one stroke.

Sections will start Monday, June 4, at 10 a.m. at the New Prague Country Club.
