B.E. girls team takes 1st in summer softball league

The Blue Earth 14U summer softball league team finished at the top of their league.

The team, made up of girls that will be going into eighth and ninth grade this fall, ended their season 10-2, winning the divison.

The final two games of the season was a double header against Fairmont at Hands Park, located south of Fairmont.

The team won both games, sweeping the Fairmont team which put them in a good position to end their season with a winning record.

The season started in Truman where they lost the first game in a double header but won the second.

The next week the team played in Worthington for another doubleheader.

The team faced a strong pitcher and lost the first game, but rebounded to came back with a win in the second.

They played in the Austin Twister Tournament against some tough competitors, but they did come home with a seventh place win.

After that they had the Fairmont tournament where the girls made a goal to finish the rest of the season undefeated which is just what they did.

They swept a doubleheader at home against Martin County West. Then swept another doubleheader against Truman.

The team was coached by Bob Dulas and assisted by Dave Klabudne. Also assisting was Casey Schenk and Kim Slette.
