By Staff | Dec 23, 2012

The Buc wrestling team went 1-1 at a tri-angular held Tuesday in New Prague.

BEA?gave the host Trojans, who are ranked No. 5 in Class AA, a scare.

Both teams won seven matches, but New Prague was able to hang on for a 35-34 win.

In the second dual meet, the Bucs easily defeated Le Sueur/Henderson, 56-12.

“Overall, I thought we wrestled real well. We had some chances against New Prague to pull out a win,” says head coach Randy Wirtjes.

Against New Prague, BEA jumped out to a 6-0 lead when Adam Legred pinned his opponent at 106 pounds in 1:35.

The Trojans went ahead 11-6 with a tech fall and a pin before 126-pound Alex Huber put his opponent’s shoulders to the mat to give his team a 12-11 advantage.
