Buccaneer girls golf team grounds New Ulm Eagles
The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer girls golf team had a successful outing on the New Ulm course on Monday, April 29.
The Bucs grounded the Eagles by a score of 204-218.
Leading the way for the BEA squad was Autumn Drake who fired a 45 on the nine-hole dual meet.
Natali Fellows came in with a 51, Aeli Olson shot a 52 and Anna Aukes carded a 56 to add to the team total.
Corinne McKeeth shot a hot 41 to lead the Eagles, which gave her medalist honors.
But, the rest of the New Ulm team came in with scores of 58, 62 and 67 which gave them 14 more strokes than the Bucs.
USC 196, BEA 200,
St. James 243
The Rebels from United South Central came in with a four-stroke victory in a golf meet triangular held at the Riverside Town and Country Golf Club on Friday, April 26.
The USC team carded a 196, while the Bucs from Blue Earth Area came in right behind with an even 200.
St. James scored a 243 for third place.
BEA’s Autumn Drake fired a 42 to lead the team and take medalist honors.
Natali Fellows shot a 48, Aeli Olson a 54 and Anna Aukes a 56 to tally the Buccaneers’ team total.
Claire Christian’s 46 led the way for the Rebels.
Veronica Schindler came in with a 48, Ali Wood carded a 52 and Kyley Bullerman shot a 57 for the Rebels’ total.
Lyndsey Haler was low scorer for the Saints, coming in with a 58.
Bucs second in New Ulm
The Buccaneers from BEA grabbed second place in an eight team golf meet in New Ulm on Thursday, April 25.
The Bucs shot a 424 team total. Fairmont won with a 407, St. Peter was third with 431, Jordan fourth at 433, Glencoe-Silver Lake fifth with 436, host New Ulm was in sixth with 446, Le Sueur-Henderson was seventh with 456 and New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva was eighth at 490.
Leading the way for BEA was Anna Aukes who carded a 49 on the front nine and came in with a 53 on the back for a total of 102. That score was good enough to place her in sixth overall at the invitational tournament.
Close behind was Autumn Drake with a 106 (52-54), Natali Fellows with a 107 (54-53) and Aeli Olson who carded a 109 (52-57).
Eighth graders Ashley Peterson and Olivia Meyers shot 143 (74-69) and 145 (73-72) respectively.
