Buc girl golfers 2nd at Fairmont, St. Peter
The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer girls golf team hosted the Fairmont Cardinals on the Minn-Iowa Golf Course in Elmore last Tuesday evening.
While the weather was perfect for golf, the Bucs’ scores did not keep up with the hot shooting Cards and BEA fell 373 to 424.
The Bucs were led by Natali Fellows who came in with a 93 (46-47) for the 18-hole meet. Close behind were Autumn Drake with a 96 (49-47) and Aeli Olson with a 99 (50-49).
BEA’s other score was a 136 (71-65) from Signe Olson.
BEA’s Anna Aukes did not participate on Tuesday. The Bucs other varsity player was Ashley Petersen who carded a 138 (75-63).
Fairmont’s four scores that counted for team total were an 88, 89, 94 and 102.

Fairmont Invitational
The Blue Earth Area girls golf team came in with a team total 405 to claim fifth place at the Fairmont Cardinal Invitational Meet at Interlaken Golf Club on Monday, May 6.
The Buccaneers were led by Autumn Drake who fired a round of 92 (50-42) on the course. That put the Buc senior in sixth place out of all the individual players.
Natali Fellows carded a 98 (46-52) for second lowest score on the Buccaneer team.
Aeli Olson shot a 107 (52-55) and Anna Aukes was right behind with a 108 (54-54) to tally up the Bucs’ team total. BEA’s other varsity score was a 121 (52-69) by Ashley Petersen.
Windom won the meet with a team score of 369. In second was host Fairmont with 378. Marshall was third with 380, Albert Lea fourth with 392, Redwood Falls sixth at 420 and Luverne seventh with a 421.
Megan Pulley of Albert Lea and Megan Will of Windom shared medalist honors with their scores of 84.
BEA second
at St. Peter Invite
The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer girls golf team landed two girls in the top 10 at the St. Peter Invitational Golf Meet and that translated into a second place finish for the team.
The Bucs broke 400 and shot a team total 397 to claim second behind Fairmont’s winning score of 372.
Belle Plaine was in third with a 403, St. Peter was fourth with a 408, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva was fifth with a 435, Central (NYA) was in sixth at 453 and Maple River was eighth at 465.
BEA’s Autumn Drake carded a 90 (48-42) for the 18-hole meet to lead the Bucs. Her score was the fourth lowest shot in the invitational on Tuesday, April 30.
Natali Fellows also cracked the top 10, coming in with a 95 (47-48) which tied her for seventh place overall.
The Bucs’ Aeli Olson and Anna Aukes both carded scores of 106. Olson shot a 49-57 while Aukes was in with a 54-52.
BEA’s other varsity golfers were Olivia Myers with a 134 (73-61) and Ashley Peterson (137 (73-64).
Fairmont’s Lizzie Larson came in with an 83 (42-41) to take medalist honors at the eight-team invitational.
