We’re going to STATE
The Blue Earth Area boys track and field team will be sending two individuals and one relay team to the Minnesota State High School League Class A State Meet, which began Friday, June 7 at Hamline University.
The 4×200-meter relay team, made up of Taylor Olson, Alberto Ocampo, Camden Bowers and Bailey Olson finished in first with a time of 1:33.01 at the Section Meet.
Nick Beattie flew past his opponents in the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash with a time of 11.20 and 22.63, respectively.
Steven Plocker also qualified for state with his shot put throw of 49-0, a personal best.

Girls track sends two teams, individuals to State
The girls team individuals and relay teams also did exceptionally well at Section with two relay teams and two individuals moving on to the State Meet.
The 4×400 meter relay team, comprised of Taylor Grandgenett, Anne Franta, Karli Olsen and Krista Hassing, took first place with a Section record of 4:00.32. Their previous record time was 4:02.64.
Paige Darrington, Miranda Johnson, Anne Franta and Skylee Bell made up the other winning relay team. They placed second with a time of 51.26.
Runner Krista Hassing took first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:19.93.
Taylor Grandgenett will also be heading to State thanks to her personal best time of 45.13 in the 300-meter low hurdles.
