Buc cross country teams compete in Montgomery
Blue Earth Area boys and girls cross country teams came in 20th and 15th, respectively, out of 30 teams at the Garry Smith/Titan Invite held in Montgomery on Sept. 5.
Boys results: Mike Ankeny led the boys by posting a 19:33 in the 5000- meters.
“Mike was solid in his debut today,” Coach Tom Plocker says.
Zach Vaske improved his time by two minutes from last year and almost 100 places by running in 20:03.
Isaac Miranda ‘got his feet wet’ and followed Vaske with a 20:59
Jordan Stelter finished his first 5K and recorded a time of 21:53.
Adam Buseman made the most of his varsity opportunity according to Plocker. He had a time of 22:52.
Shortly behind were Kyle Mercer (23:55) and Alex Benson (24:59).
The boys took 20th out of the 30 teams competing.
Girls results: Taylor Grandgenett improved her last year’s place by running a 18:07 in the 4000-meters.
Signe Olson had a positive start, according to Plocker, finishing with a time of 19:04.
Shayna Stevermer was solid and competed tough as usual Plocker said. She ran a time of 19:19.
Mariah Halvorson (19:32) and Jenna Stevermer (19:51) also posted sub-20 times.
Makenzie Slette (20:52) and Athena Peterson (21:13) were not far behind.
