By Staff | Sep 8, 2013

The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers traveled to St. James on Thursday night for their first South Central Conference volleyball match.

Unfortunately that match resulted in the Bucs’ first conference loss of the season.

The Saints won it in just three sets; 25-21, 25-17 and 25-18.

But, the girls in maroon and gold worked hard to keep the scores close.

Nicole Krinke was consistent in setting up the ball for her teammates with 12 assists. She also had seven digs.

But, it was senior Haley Resutek who led the team in digs, tallying a total of 13.

Analicia Swanson was a force to be reckoned with at the back line. She was 10 for 11 serving, scoring two aces and accounting for seven points.

Although the Bucs have yet to see a win, it seems they are beginning to improve in their various roles.

This loss puts their overall record at 0-3 and SCC?record at 0-1.

BEA played at Luverne on Saturday, results from that game will be featured in the next issue of the Faribault County Register.
