Bucs fall to the Saints, 3-0

The Blue Earth Area Volleyball team played two South Central Conference games this week.

They most recently faced the St. James Saints last Thursday, on the Bucs home court.

However, that didn’t give them the upper hand they were hoping for, and the Saints went home with the win.

They played a three-game match but the Bucs gave it their all. However, the games ended 25-15, 25-19 and 25-18.

Ciarra Olson was a driving force on the court. She served seven aces and had 12 service points as a result of her being 17 for 19 at the back line. Olson also had eight digs and five kills.

Audrey McDonald was 12 for 12 at the service line scoring 7 points and two aces. She also led the team with digs, tallying 13 of them. She also had seven kills.

Nicole Krinke was consistent setting up plays for her team, with 12 set assists. She also had three kills and one ace block.

Elizabeth Ellis used her height at the net and aided the Bucs with two ace blocks.

Sam Ripley saw some play time in the game on Thursday night and had one ace block.

The loss puts the Bucs overall record at 2-12 and their SCC?record at 0-7.

BEA hosted the Blue Earth Area Volleyball Invite which was played after the Faribault County Register deadline. Results from the Saturday morning tournament will be included in next week’s edition.

Next week, the Bucs will play the Jackson County Central Huskies on Monday night in Blue Earth to kick off Homecoming week.

St. Peter 3, BEA 0

The Blue Earth Area volleyball team traveled to St. Peter last Tuesday.

The Saints tallied the win in a three-game match; 25-14, 25-21 and 25-5.

Haley Resutek was hot at the service line and was 7 for 7 with one ace and four service points.

Elizabeth Ellis gave the Bucs some height at the net and managed two ace blocks. She also led the team in kills with five.

Audrey McDonald and Nicole Krinke both had 11 digs each against the Saints. Krinke assisting the Bucs with six sets.

Ciarra Olson also had six digs.
