Cards swoop in for a 3-0 win

By Staff | Oct 13, 2013

The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer volleyball team traveled to Fairmont on Tuesday night to take on their rivals.

Earlier in the season the teams played some closely matched games, however the tables turned at their second conference match of the year.

When the two teams played last month, Fairmont won the hard-fought match in four games.

This time they won with more ease, ending the match in just three games, 25-12, 25-8 and 25-12.

The girls seemed to rack up less stats than usual which probably contributed to the loss in Fairmont.

Audrey McDonald was 8 for 8 serving, scoring eight points. She also led the team with 11 digs and had two kills.

Nicole Krinke led the team in both kills and set assists. She had three kills and five assists.

Analicia Swanson was 4 for 4 at the service line accounting for two aces and two points.

Ciarra Olson helped manage the ball for the Bucs tallying seven digs. She also had two kills.

Haley Resutek had seven digs, while Elizabeth Ellis had one ace block and Devyn Braunhausen had two kills.

This South Central Conference loss for the Bucs puts their conference record at 0-9 and their overall record at 2-20.

The girls in maroon in gold will host the Waseca Blue Jays on Tuesday night for an SCC?match. The Bucs also play at the Rochester Invite next weekend.
