BEA girls tennis defeats USC, 4-3

The Blue Earth Area girls tennis team accelerates through the season with yet another win Thursday against USC, moving their overall record up to 8-0.

The match was held in Wells and though hot, humid weather threatened the team, they pulled through with a final score of 4-3.

Anikka Wilhelmi had an impressive match against USC’s Carly Weber and won the No. 3 singles match with a 6-3, 3-6, 6-4 score.

Gracie Leland won over Emma Barnd with a 0-6, 6-4, 6-2 final score in the No. 4 singles match.

BEA singles matches: Karleigh Wolff vs. Kia Legred, 1-6, 3-6; and Kaitlyn Olsen vs. Linsey Thisuis, 4-6, 3-6.

In the No. 1 doubles match, Natali Fellows and Paige Darrington teamed up against USC’s Joyce Rubio and Angie Bixby and pulled through with a 6-1, 6-3 win.

Beka Krussow and Karli Olsen won 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 2 doubles match against Wendy Martinez and Leah Meyer; and Lacey Benz and Annaliese Klinkner won 6-2, 6-1 in the No. 3 doubles match against Hayley Olson and Kelly Nebauer.
