BEA beats USC, 16-2
The Buccaneers found their groove last Thursday when they defeated the United South Central Rebels.
The Blue Earth Area softball team tallied their first win of the season against their cross-county rivals. BEA?ended the game in five innings with a final score of 16-2.
“We needed a burst of energy and a boost of confidence,”?Buc coach Abby Bloomquist said. “And we got that tonight. Finally both sides of the game came together for us and we were able to perform defensively and offensively.”
Grace Leland was a perfect 4 for 4 at bat, hitting one double and one triple, and scoring two runs.
Caitlyn Holm was 2 for 3 hitting and scored three runs for the maroon and gold.
Makenzie Slette was 3 for 4 at bat and scored three runs.
Kylie Ahl was also 3 for 4 at the plate. She hit one double and scored three runs for BEA.
Jalyssa Wilson was a perfect 3 for 3 hitting and hit one double.
Annaliese Klinkner was 2 for 4 at bat, hitting one double and scoring one run.
Adri Dulas was 0 for 2 hitting but crossed the plate to score one run for the Buccaneers.
Sydney Henningsen was 0 for 2, scoring one run.
Brianna Ziegler was 1 for 3 hitting and scored two runs.
“It was great to see so many girls be successful at the plate,” the Buc coach adds.
The Buccaneers had a game scheduled for Friday, April 24, however that was after the Faribault County Register deadline and results will be featured in the next issue.
The Buccaneers will play again on Tuesday, April 28 in Blue Earth and will host Windom at the 14th Street Fields.
“We’re hoping to carry some momentum (from this game) into the second half of our schedule,” Bloomquist said.
