By Staff | May 10, 2015

The Blue Earth Area Buccaneers overcame some not so nice weather conditions and pulled out a three-stroke win last Tuesday afternoon on the Riverside Town & Country Club golf course.

The Buccaneers won 226 to a 229 tallied by the Fairmont Cardinals.

BEA’s Natali Fellows and Fairmont’s Emily Kim tied for medalist honors when both came in with identical 48s.

Fellows had one par, and Kim sank two, but Kim also had an eight on the par five first hole.

Kaitlyn Olsen and Signe Olson each came in with identical 59s for the Bucs, while Ashley Petersen added BEA’s fourth score for team total when she carded a 60.

Olivia Myers was the other varsity player and she shot a 63. Mateja Lane was BEA’s lone junior varsity golfer and she came in with a 51.

Fairmont’s other scores were a 54 by Lexie Johnson, 63 by Kaitlynn Noah and a 64 by Dayna Mattesen.

This week the Buccaneers are slated to head to Waseca on Thursday and then host Jackson County Central on Friday.
