BE Pirates play two shut out games

The Pirates continued their winning streak last weekend as they tallied two more victories.

On Sunday, the Blue Earth boys traveled over to Wells where they faced up against the Wildcats.

But, it wasn’t much of a contest as the Pirates completely shut out their opponents, ending the game 6-0.

TJ Stallman was 2 for 5 at bat. He scored one run, hit three RBI, had two bases on balls and stole two bases.

Kane Malo scored one run from his five at bats and took one base on balls.

Garret Anderson was 3 for 5 batting and scored two runs for the Pirates.

Dallas Barslou was 2 for 3 at bat and scored one run for Blue Earth. He also took one base on balls.

Anderson also took the mound for the Pirates, pitching all nine innings. He pitched to 36 batters, allowed six hits, five walks and had five strikeouts.

This win added to their spotless 7-0 record.

The Pirates played again over the weekend, however, those games were after the Faribault County Register deadline.

They played in the Tiger Town Classic tournament in Belle Plaine on Saturday and Sunday. Results from those games will be featured in the next issue.

The Pirates will play again on Wednesday, June 17 at home against Morristown at 7:30 p.m.

Blue Earth 8,

Morristown 0

It was a complete shutout last weekend when the Pirates traveled to Morristown.

The Pirates went away from the game, continuing their season-long winning streak, tallying an 8-0 victory against Morristown.

The Blue Earth boys kicked things off by scoring two runs in the first inning, with Cody Sukalski and Kane Malo each advancing by stealing bases.

The Pirates brought in another two runs in the third inning, while their opponents remained at zero.

They scored three in the seventh and one more in the eighth to solidify their 8-0 success.

Sukalski was 1 for 3 at bat and scored one run. He also had two stolen bases and took two bases on balls.

Kane Malo scored one run for the Pirates and took two bases on balls.

Bob Olson was 3 for 4 at bat and scored two runs. He had three RBI, hit two doubles and one triple and took one base on balls.

Garret Anderson was 1 for 3 at bat and scored two runs. He also hit one double and took two bases on balls.

Trent Sonnicksen was 1 for 2 hitting for the Pirates. He scored one run, hit one RBI and took two bases on balls.

Brandon Williamson scored one run for Blue Earth and hit one RBI.

Sukalski took the mound for Blue Earth, pitching all nine innings. He faced 32 batters and only allowed three hits. He had eight strikeouts and one walk.
