Pirates tally 4 more wins

Aaron Wendt took the mound for the Pirates last weekend during the Clash of the County held during ‘Bago Fun Fest. Blue Earth continues the season with a 13-1 record.

After a successful weekend in Winnebago, the Pirates went on to host the Cleveland Spiders last Wednesday.

And, as the pattern of the season seems to go for the Blue Earth boys, this game ended in another victory.

The Pirates kicked off the scoring and continued strong through the rest of the game ending in a 13-1 win.

Brady Anderson took the mound for the Pirates for five innings. He faced 19 batters but allowed just two hits, two walks and zero runs. Anderson also had two strikeouts.

Dallas Barslou pitched the remaining two innings. He faced 7 batters, allowing one hit one base on balls and one run. He also had four strikeouts.

John Franta was 4 for 4 at bat for the Pirates and scored three runs. He also had three RBI and one double.

TJ Schmidtke was 2 for 4 and scored three runs for the Blue Earth boys.

Brandyn Olsen was 2 for 4 batting and scored one run. He also accounted for five RBI, one double and one home run.

Aaron Wendt was 3 for 4 at the plate. He had one RBI, one double and scored one run for the Pirates.

Lee Hodges was 2 for 4 at bat and scored two runs.

Trent Sonnicksen was 1 for 1 batting and took two bases on balls. He added two runs to the scoreboard for Blue Earth.

Garrett Anderson was 2 for 4 at bat and scored one run. He also had one RBI.

The win against the Spiders brought the Pirates’ overall season record to 14-1.

The Pirates played again on Friday, June 26, in New Richland, Saturday, June 27, in Jackson and Sunday, June 28, in Blue Earth which took place after the Register’s deadline. Results from that game will be featured in the next issue.

Clash of the County

Blue Earth 7, Wells 3

The Pirates hosted other teams from around Faribault County to go head to head during ‘Bago Fun Fest in the Clash of the County last weekend.

They kicked things off by taking on the Wells Wildcats who they defeated by four runs, 7-3.

TJ Stallman scored one run in the sixth inning and accounted for one RBI.

Aaron Wendt was 1 for 3 hitting and scored two runs for the Blue Earth boys.

Brandyn Olsen was 2 for 4 accounting for two runs and two RBI.

Lee Hodges was 1 for 2 at bat, scoring one run in the fourth inning.

Dallas Barslou also scored a run in the fourth inning.

Blue Earth 6,

Minnesota Lake 2

The next game pitted the Blue Earth Pirates against the Minnesota Lake Royals. This game rounded out the weekend for the Blue Earth boys as they tallied another win.

The Pirates finished the game with a victory, defeating the Royals 6-2.

TJ Stallman was 1 for 3 at bat and took one base on balls. He accounted for one run and one double.

TJ Schmidtke was 2 for 4 batting and scored one run in the sixth inning.

Brandyn Olsen was 1 for 4 at the plate and scored two runs. He also had one RBI.

Lee Hodges was 2 for 3 at bat and scored one run in the fourth inning.

Cody Sukalski was 1 for 2 at bat and scored one run, had one RBI?and took one base on balls.

Aaron Wendt had two RBI, helping his teammates to score runs.

Blue Earth 12,

Austin 11

On Friday, June 19 the Blue Earth boys pulled in another win after a nail-biter against the Austin Greyhounds.

The two teams battled it out for 11 innings before the Pirates came out the winners with a score of 12-11.

The Greyhounds pulled ahead in the first inning, scoring three runs. The Pirates only scored one in the first.

The score evened out again during the second after Austin scored one more run and the Pirates brought in two runs, bumping the score to 4-3.

It was in the fifth inning that the Greyhounds pulled ahead of the Pirates even further. They scored two runs for a score of 6-3.

The Blue Earth boys responded again by scoring two more runs in the sixth inning, closing the gap in the score, 6-5.

In the eighth inning the Greyhounds got on a roll and brought in four more runs, with the Pirates scoring one.

With the score at 10-6 at the end of the eighth inning, the game seemed to be ending in the visiting team’s favor.

“We scored five runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game at 11,” Pirates’ manager Lee Hodges says.

The game came to an end after the Pirates scored the winning run in the 11th inning.

Brandyn Olsen pitched the first two innings of the game. He faced 13 batters and allowed four runs and four hits. He also had two strikeouts.

Hodges was next to take the mound for the Pirates. He pitched for five innings, facing 19 batters. He allowed three hits, two runs and one walk and had four strikeouts.

Brandon Williamson also pitched for four innings. He pitched to 23 batters and allowed six hits, five runs and three walks. He also had four strikeouts.

TJ Stallman was the first to score for the Pirates. He hit a double in the first inning and scored a run. He hit another double and scored a run in the ninth inning.

TJ Schmidtke and Cody Sukalski each scored one run in the ninth inning.

Aaron Wendt hit a home run in the second inning, scoring one run for the Pirates.

Kane Malo was hot at the plate scoring four runs for the Blue Earth boys. He scored runs in the second, sixth, eighth and ninth innings.

John Franta also hit a home run for the Pirates and scored two runs.
