The Blue Earth Area boys basketball team suffered another defeat for the season. When playing Jackson County Central last Wednesday evening, the Bucs lost 88-51.

JCC took a 10-point lead right off the bat, which BEA struggled to catch up with the entire game.

The Bucs were persistent in trying to catch up, but to no avail as JCC continued to rack up multiple two and three pointers throughout the first half, with a score of 52-31 in favor of JCC at the end of the half.

At the beginning of the second half, the Bucs were on a run with multiple field goal attempts made. However, those attempts never came to fruition until Jacob Vaske made a three-pointer. Then the home team began to rack up a few more points.

But with JCC so far in the lead, BEA was unable to catch up.

The top scorers for the evening were both Brandon Olson and Bailey Olson, making 10 points each for the Bucs. Brandon Olson only missed one of his free throws that he attempted throughout the whole game.

Both Vaske and Chandler Kienitz provided seven points each to the Bucs total as well, with Tyler Hannaman also contributing five points.

The maroon and gold played again on Saturday, Jan. 2 at LeSueur-Henderson High School. They will host St. Peter on Tuesday and be at St. James on Friday.
