Buccaneers suffer loss against Trojans

The Blue Earth Area gymnastics team faced some tough competition last Tuesday when they hosted Worthington at the Winnebago gym.

Worthington took the win with a total score of 139.425, while the Buccaneers only finished with a team total of 108.925.

But, it was not a complete wash out for the home team. Buc senior Erin Olson took fourth place in all around with a total score of 29.625. She had an 8.35 on vault, 6.1 on the beam, 7.425 on the floor and 7.75 on bars.

As a team the maroon and gold scored 24.3 on the beam, 24.25 on bars, 27.825 on the floor and 32.55 on the vault.

Worthington had 34.65 on the beam, 35.55 on the floor, 35.825 on the vault and 33.4 on the bars.

Worthington’s McKenna Prunty took the top spot in all around with a score of 35.725. She scored 9.025 on vault, 8.9 on beam, 9.1 on the floor and 8.7 on bars.

Prunty also took second on the vault, second on the beam, first with her floor exercise and first on the bars.

The JV teams also competed and BEA’s Phoebe Loge placed third in all around with a total score of 20.1.

BEA JV finished with a team score of 91.1. They scored 20.45 on the beam, 25.4 on the floor, 17.55 on the bars and 27.7 on the vault.

Worthington JV?had a team total of 126.4; scoring 34.6 on vault, 30.7 on beam, 31.8 on floor and 29.3 on bars.

The Buc gymnasts hosted the St. Peter Saints on Thursday, Jan. 21, however, the Register was unable to obtain stats.
