As for Howard, the freshman notched 25 points while playing the No. 3 singles position most of the year. She recorded 17 wins and just four losses in 2017.
Bucs players Julia Hanson and Britt Howard also received Big South Conference honorable mention. Hanson, also a team captain, recorded 24 points with a record of 20-8 while playing in the No. 2 singles spot for most of the year.
Howard earned 24 points and a 15-6 record while alternating between the No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions.
Section 3A coach of the year Konny Wolff said both Hanson and Scholtes did a great job of being team leaders through the year.
In addition to the four all-conference selections, and two honorable mentions, Wolff was extremely proud of Blue Earth Area’s overall performance throughout the year.
“We worked on the mental aspects of the game all season long, and it paid off,” Wolff said. “All the girls were able to stay focused in close matches and the results speak for themselves.”
