BEA golfer Mateja Lane earns All-Conference
The Blue Earth Area girls golf team had one of its members earn All-Conference honors at the Big South Conference Golf Tournament held last Monday, May 21, in Waseca.
Mateja Lane shot a score of 88 which was good for 11th place in the conference and earned her All-Conference honors.
Claire Jordan shot a 99 for the Bucs, while Malarie Scholtes carded a 111 and Maddie Armon came in with a 116 to add up to the Bucs’ team total of 414.
That score put BEA in ninth place out of the 11 teams. Winning the conference with a 322 score was Marshall, Fairmont was second with a 369, Worthington in third with 379, Waseca fourth at 383, Windom and St. Peter tied for fifth at 398, New Ulm seventh at 411 and Jackson County Central eighth at just one stroke under the Bucs’ score, with a 413. Luverne was 10th with a 418 and Pipestone 11th at 438.
The other two BEA varsity golfers, Lyndsey Borris and Serina Wirth, shot a 118 and 120 respectively.
Next up for the Buccaneers is the Section Golf Tournament on Tuesday, May 29, at New Prague.
