BEA wrestlers crush LCWM 45-19

It was another win for the Blue Earth Area wrestlers when they traveled to Lake Crystal on Friday, Feb. 1, to take on the Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial Knights.

The Bucs recorded six falls on their way to a 45-19 victory. BEA was scheduled to wrestle in a dual team tournament in Minnetonka on Feb. 9. The Section 2A Team Tournament opening round is Feb. 14.

There were no matches at the 106 and 195-pound weight brackets as this was a non-conference meet.

Ty Peterson at 113 pounds wasted no time getting six team points for the Bucs with his pin of Ean Gillman in 49 seconds. Davis Sunken pinned Tyler Ash with three seconds left in the first period to win the 120-pound match and stake BEA to a 12-0 lead.

Caleb Beeler was pinned by Trayton Hewitt at 126 pounds and Jacob Beeler dropped a 7-2 decision to Tucker Willis at 132 pounds allowing the Knights to pull within three points of the Bucs at 12-9.

Nick Nelson, filling in for Jaxen Klinkner at 138 pounds, responded with a pin over Seth Rosin at the 3:04 mark to increase the Buc’s lead to 18-9.?Max Ehrich scored a 16-1 technical fall over Camden Ludeman at 145 pounds putting BEA out front 23-9.

Koby Nagel kept the momentum going with a 19-5 major decision over Bryer Larson making the score 27-9 in favor of the Bucs.

Logan Johnson only needed 37 seconds to pin Dylan Connor at 160 pounds. Nick Frank earned six more points for the team with his first period pin of Dougray Siebenahler at 170 pounds which gave the Buccaneers a 39-9 lead.

Dominic Whitlow lost a 12-4 major decision to Avery Northquest at 182 pounds and Erik Anderson lost by a fall in the second period at 220 pounds, which made the score 39-19 in favor of BEA.

Ian Cornelio finished the night off for the Bucs with a pin over Alex Sullivan at 285 pounds. Cornelio gained the fall with three seconds remaining in the first period to make the final score 45-19 in favor of BEA.
