Bucs lose to Worthington

The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer boys tennis team fell to the Worthington Trojans last Tuesday night in a match played in Blue Earth.

BEA lost the match 5-2, gaining their two wins from their No. 1 and No. 2 doubles teams.

At No 1 doubles, the Bucs’ Parker Kienitz and Nick Frundt teamed up to defeat Ryan Newman and Ben Lopez by scores of 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 (3).

And, at No. 2 doubles, it was BEA’s James Greer and Jonathan Hill getting a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Worthington’s Colby Hastings and Bobby Souwankham.

The Buccaneer duo of Max Loge and Joe Frundt lost at No. 3 doubles to Michael Schneider and Alec Langerud by a 6-4, 6-3, score.

Vern Johnson, playing at No. 3 singles, had the closest match in singles, and the only one to go three sets. He lost to Kipton Jenson by scores of 6-1, 6-7 (2), 6-2.

At No. 1 singles, Jack Frundt lost 6-3, 6-0, to Blaine Doeden. Jack Barke fell at No. 2 singles to Sullivan Merrigan, 6-1, 6-0.

And, at No. 4 singles, it was Jaime Johnson losing to Cade Lindner, 6-0, 6-2.
