BEA Buc boys golf team takes 8th at St. Cloud
St. Cloud Invitational
The Blue Earth Area Buccaneer boys golf team competed at the St. Cloud Country Club on Thursday, May 9, in the St. Cloud Invitational, and ended up in eighth place out of 18 teams. Most of the teams were among the best of the best in the State of Minnesota and have been State Tournament entrants in the past.
The Buccaneers were led by Manning Lane, who shot a 5-over-par 77. The score put him in a 3-way tie for ninth place.
Hunter Spencer and Braden Gudahl each shot an 80 for score, +8, putting the two Bucs in a 9-way tie for 22nd place.
Gaven Bruellman and Ashton Lloyd each shot an 87, +16, and were in a 7-way tie for 65th place. Bruellman’s score counted towards the Buccaneer team score of 324.
BEA’s other varsity player, Max Ehrich, shot a 91, which put him in a 5-way tie for 82nd place. There were 107 golfers competing in the tournament.
An Alexandria player was medalist with a score of 73, while the Alexandria team took first with a tally of 303.
In second place was Buffalo with a 308, Rogers third with a 313, Brainerd and Sartell tied for fourth at 318, Eagan and Elk River tied for sixth with 322, and the Bucs eighth with their 324.
