Karson Legred is a Minnesota High School Baseball All-Star.

The baseball honors keep coming in for Karson Legred. He has been chosen to represent southern Minnesota on the South All-Star team in the Minnesota High School Baseball All-Star Series.

Legred, a 2019 Blue Earth Area graduate, was also recently named to the Big South Conference All-Conference team and the Section 2AA All-Section team.

Legred, selected to be on the team as a catcher, joined his fellow all-stars in Shakopee on June 27, at Canterbury Park, where two horse races were held in honor of the all-stars.

His first game was Friday, June 28, at 5 p.m. against the Metro East team. His next game was on Saturday, June 29, at 9 a.m. versus the Metro South team. He was to play one more game on Saturday. The opponent was to be determined depending on the outcome of the first two games.

Legred is known as a good team leader and a hard worker.

“He caught every inning for us this year,” BEA coach Todd Schmidtke explained.

Legred is preparing for his first year of school and baseball at Bethany Lutheran College in Mankato. He will be joined there by his high school teammate and friend, Hunter Bleess. Fall practice begins in August at Bethany. Until then, Legred will continue to enjoy playing baseball for the Winnebago/Blue Earth Legion team and the Blue Earth Pirates.

“I love baseball, it has always been my favorite sport,” Legred says.
