Blair named to all-conference team
Blue Earth Area Buccaneer Eloise Blair was recognized for her work on the volleyball court by the Big South Conference (BSC) by being named to the East Division All-Conference Team.
Blair was one of 12 players in the East Division selected for the team. There were also six girls named as honorable mention.
Blair was the lone representative from BEA. In addition, she was the only freshman named to the team from either the East or West Division.
“Eloise is quick and has a keen sense of the ball,” BEA head coach Donna Nawrocki said. “She is able to read the hitters well, and cover a lot of area when in pursuit.”
Her quickness allowed Blair to lead the Bucs with 400 digs. She also had 480 serve receptions.
“She is a vocal leader for her team and she continues to improve in all aspects of her game,” Nawrocki added.
She was just one of many young players which comprised the BEA squad. There were two other freshmen on the team. There were also four sophomores, three juniors and only two seniors who suited up for the Maroon and Gold.
Blair also served 13 aces this year while having an 84.4 serving percentage.
“We look forward to having Eloise return to the court next fall,” Nawrocki commented. “With the season she had, she made it to No. 3 on our top 10 list for digs in a season.
