“Our heavier weights picked us up tonight,” BEA head coach Randy Wirtjes said. “Adam Schavey got us going, Max Ehrich wrestled a great match, Kean Hicks lost a tough one in overtime, but Nick Frank came back with a major decision for us. Luke Mertens wrestled strong in the second and third periods to pick up a win and it was nice to see Nick Lawrence and Ian Cornelio finish with wins.”

Lawrence won by a 9-6 decision over Makota Misgen at 220 pounds and Cornelio won a close 1-0 match against Ben Hagen to make the final score 43-21 in favor of the Bucs.

“Give NRHEG credit,” Wirtjes said. “They came here tonight and were ready to wrestle. We have some things to work on when we get back to practice.”
