USC cross country season is underway

The United South Central/Alden boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Blooming Prairie Triangular on Sept. 15.

The boys came in second and the girls placed third.

Blooming Prairie took first in the boys meet with a score of 31. The Rebels took second with a 37 socre and Pacelli had 64 points for third.

Micah Hamson took second in the boys competition with a time of 18:57. Gabe Schroeder also did well, placing fourth with a time of 19:56. Placing seventh with a time of 20:24 was Nathan Mutschler.

On the girls side, Pacelli placed first with a score of 30, while Blooming Prairie had 43 for second and USC/Alden 47 for third place.

Lauren Mutschler took second overall with a time of 23:14. Jenny Mulholland was in fifth place with a 24:58 time.

Next up for the Rebels is a meet at Maple River on Tuesday, Sept. 22

Oakview Dual Meet

On Thursday, Sept. 10, the Rebels were at the Oakview Golf Course to host a meet versus Medford.

The girls won their meet with a score of 26, while Medford had 34.

Leading the way was Lauren Mutschler who took first place with a time of 23:49. Jenny Mulholland took third with a time of 25:00.

Merideth Klingbeil had a time of 26:34 good for sixth place, while teammate Lyndsay Thunstedt was right behind in seventh place at 26:40. Bryn Evans claimed ninth with a time of 27:06.

The Rebel boys had a score of 42 for second, while Medford scored 19 points to claim first place.

Micah Hamson came in at fourth place with a time of 19:33 and Gabe Schroeder was right behind in fifth place with a 19:39 time.

Nathan Mutschler was in 10th with a time of 21:42.

Hayfield Triangular

The United South Central girls and boys cross country teams are off and running for the season.

The Rebels started off with a meet at Hayfield on Thursday, Sept. 3.

The Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton/Waterville-Elysian-Morristown girls team won the girls meet with a score of 17. The Rebels came in second with a score of 46 while Hayfield had an incomplete score.

Leading the way for the Rebels was Lauren Mutschler who came in fourth with a time of 24:36.

Jenny Mulholland had a time of 28:01 for ninth place and Lyndsay Thunstedt was 10th with a time of 28:27.

On the boys side, USC came in third with a score of 66. Hayfield was in first with 28 points, and JWP/WEM was second at 32.

Micah Hamson led the Rebels with a time of 21:35 good for eighth place.
