USC tennis goes 1-1 for the week

Kelsie Chapman came with a victory in her No. 4 singles match against Sibley East-Arlington.

The United South Central Rebels girls tennis team had another close match on Tuesday, Sept. 15. Only this time the Rebels came up on the short end, falling 4-3 to Sibley East-Arlington.

Delaney Weber got the Rebels off on the right foot with a 6-2, 6-0, win over Jacqueline Wibstad at No. 1 singles.

At No. 2 singles, Rebel Alyson Swanson lost 6-3, 7-5 to Rachel Widmer, and Olivia Schwartz fell 6-3, 6-1, to Shelby Dieball at No. 3 singles.

Kelsie Chapman defeated Chloe Reyes, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 4 singles for another Rebel point.

USC’s No. 1 doubles team of Macy Zebro and Maya Zebro lost in a three-set match, 6-4, 0-6, 6-3, to Holly Otto and Mallory Sylvester.

Delaney Weber moved into the No. 1 singles position and earned a win in her match against Sibley East on Sept. 15.

At No. 2 doubles, the Rebel duo of Lauren Zebro and Elizabeth Romano defeated Ashtyn Bullert and Jessica Widmer, 6-4, 6-2.

Issabella O’Rouke and Hanna Olson lost to Morgan Bednarek and Morgan Thoele, 6-0, 7-5, at No. 3 doubles.

USC 4, SWC 3

The United South Central Rebels girls tennis team claimed another victory this time by a narrow 4-3 margin.

The Rebels downed Southwest Christian at home on Tuesday, Sept. 8.

Delaney Weber, playing at No. 1 singles, got things going for the Rebels with a 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 win over Ella Schmidt.

At No. 2 singles, Alyson Swanson defeated YaYa Schmidt by a score of 6-3, 6-1.

Elizabeth Romano lost a 6-4, 6-3 No. 3 singles match to Ella Ringer of SWC.

Rebel Kelsie Chapman downed Mariah Hunt, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4 singles.

The Rebel duo of Macy Zebro and Maya Zebro fell to Hannah Schwarz and Greta Schwarz by a score of 6-2, 6-4, at No. 1 doubles.

USC got a win at No. 2 doubles when Olivia Schwartz and Lauren Zebro teamed up to defeat Ellie Vietzen and Anna Guelder by scores of 6-4, 6-1.

Hanna Olson and Issabella O’Rourke lost 6-4, 7-6, at No. 3 doubles to Kiera Cameron and Biz Olimb.
